Mandy, from Get Your Gear On Consignment Shop, will be sharing with us information about this shop, gear available, trips they will be scheduling and hints on overnight kayak/canoe camping. This should be very helpful for the overnight trips we have coming up on the schedule.

Palmetto Paddlers will meet at the Riverbanks Zoo Parking Lot at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 2 to sweep the far side of the Saluda River below Millrace Rapids. Remember to sign waiver for a chance to win the Kayak!
We need volunteers to man the Palmetto Paddlers' booth at the West Columbia Amphitheater after the sweep.

American Rivers would like to invite anyone who is interested to join the Inaugural Voyage of the Congaree Blue Trail, Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 10:00 AM. It is a B.Y.O.B. (Bring your own boat) event, however boats can be arranged if someone is interested and not able to bring their own. More information attached as PDF. Patrick Moore is the contact with Coastal Conservation League.

Description:
Meet at 1 pm in zoo parking lot for a trip from the zoo down to Gervais Street bridge. About 2.5 or 3 hours with shuttle. This is a mild whitewater trip for paddlers who may desire to try some whitewater. All skill levels and boats, except for fiberglass and sea kayaks. Bring helmet and pfd. We may have one or two spare helmets but check with me.

UPDATE: Checked power company phone announcement today. They have one gate to run 100% today, Saturday and Sunday. This will be great water level and great weather. The paddle is on. We will meet at 11 am at NC welcome center on I-26. Remember its about 1 1/2 hours from Columbia to welcome center but allow for any delays.
