We're planning a trip on the beautiful, black water Lumber River, leaving from Fair Bluff, NC, traveling across the border into SC and taking out at the landing near Nichols, SC, about 18 river miles. This is a great trip for all types of boats and skill levels. The river is black water with (usually) moderate current and no expected pull-overs.

The Lynches is a beautiful river. We'll be doing the stretch from Hwy 15 (Bishopville) to Hwy 401, about 15 river miles, above the confluence with the Great Pee Dee. We'll be looping around Lee State Park and the trip should take 6 or 7 hours. The put-in is about an hour and a half drive from Columbia. Plan to meet at the put-in at 10.

Stumpy Pond Landing is located on Cedar Creek Reservoir just below Great Falls. This is a pretty pond which is part of the Catawba River Valley. Almost all the land in this area has been purchased by the Katawba Land Trust for conservation. The reservoir has several large islands and the shore has numerous large granite outcropings.
