07 / 1 (trip) Sunday on the Saluda Start: 1:00 pm End: 5:00 pm Description: Meet at 1 pm in zoo parking lot for a trip from the zoo down to Gervais Street bridge. About 2.5 or 3 hours with shuttle. This is a mild whitewater trip for paddlers who may desire to try some whitewater. All skill levels and boats, except for fiberglass and sea kayaks. Bring helmet and pfd. We may have one or two spare helmets but check with me. more info

There will be another one Labor Day weekend. more info (trip) Lynches River Start: 10:00 am End: 5:00 pm Description: The Lynches is a beautiful river. We'll be doing the stretch from Hwy 15 (Bishopville) to Hwy 401, about 15 river miles, above the confluence with the Great Pee Dee. We'll be looping around Lee State Park and the trip should take 6 or 7 hours. The put-in is about an hour and a half drive from Columbia. Plan to meet at the put-in at 10. more info

From there the event moves to Charlotte, NC. www.jwwc2007.com more info (trip) Stumpy Pond Start: 11:00 am End: 3:00 pm Description: Stumpy Pond Landing is located on Cedar Creek Reservoir just below Great Falls. This is a pretty pond which is part of the Catawba River Valley. Almost all the land in this area has been purchased by the Katawba Land Trust for conservation. The reservoir has several large islands and the shore has numerous large granite outcropings. more info

07 / 29 (trip) North Fork Edisto River Start: 11:00 am End: 5:00 pm Description: Another North Fork trip. Always beautiful and fun. This is a narrow part of the Edisto, above the confluence with the South Fork, forming the main stem Edisto. This stretch has a lot of wilderness on it with very few houses. It is suitable for all boats. more info
