Stumpy Pond

Description:
Stumpy Pond Landing is located on Cedar Creek Reservoir just below Great Falls. This is a pretty pond which is part of the Catawba River Valley. Almost all the land in this area has been purchased by the Katawba Land Trust for conservation. The reservoir has several large islands and the shore has numerous large granite outcropings.

North Fork Edisto River

Description:
Another North Fork trip. Always beautiful and fun. This is a narrow part of the Edisto, above the confluence with the South Fork, forming the main stem Edisto. This stretch has a lot of wilderness on it with very few houses. It is suitable for all boats.

Sunday on the Saluda

Description:
Meet at 1 pm in zoo parking lot for a trip from the zoo down to Gervais Street bridge. About 2.5 or 3 hours with shuttle. This is a mild whitewater trip for paddlers who may desire to try some whitewater. All skill levels and boats, except for fiberglass and sea kayaks. Bring helmet and pfd. We may have one or two spare helmets but check with me.

Nantahala River - CANCELED
Start: 10:30 am

Description:
This trip has been canceled.
Description: Class II whitewater with two Class III - rapids which can be portaged. Suitable for semi-intermediate- paddlers. Very cold water so neoprene/cold water gear recommended. Duckys and wetsuits can be rented at the Nantahala Outdoor Center for those with some whitewater experience who want to increase their skills.
