Welcome to Palmetto Paddlers; we are glad to have you as a member! We hope that you will enjoy the company of fellow boaters, make some new paddling friends and hone your skills through participation in our trips, clinics and meetings.

The club organizes a variety of trips. Trips are organized by members for the membership. Our Cruisemaster is Les Case; he would love to hear all about that trip you want to coordinate! We welcome suggestions for outings, whether you are looking to lead or to follow.

John Derrick, ACA Certified River Safety and Rescue Instructor, is our safety and instruction chair. He will coordinate clinics aimed to help you improve your technique and practice safety and rescue skills. John and Les coordinates our popular winter pool rolling practice sessions and have some sensational instructional clinics in the works. Many of our members are ACA Certified instructors, and others are in the process of obtaining credentials. Keep an eye on our calendar for the latest in trips and clinics.

We are affiliate members of national paddling groups, including the American Canoe Association and American Whitewater. Locally, we support the initiatives of the Congaree Riverkeeper. We are advocates for clean water, conservation and river access.

We support the good work of organizations like Canoeing for Kids and the Columbia chapter of Team River Runner; we agree that boating can be therapeutic and inspiring.

Beyond the benefit of phenomenal company on the water, members can enjoy discounts at outfitters, including Adventure Carolina, Get Your Gear On, The Backpacker and the Nantahala Outdoor Center.
