Join us for a nice flat water trip on Goodale State Park's canoe and kayak trail. It is a nice easy paddle through the trees and gradually narrows to a twisting creek with plenty of turns. There is no development on any part of the trip and the creek offers plenty of chances to work on your boat control without much consequence if you make a mistake. This trip is suitable for short whitewater style kayaks, recreation kayaks and canoes and even longer sea kayaks if you are up for a challenge on the creek portion of the trip. No shuttle involved, we'll paddle as far as we can go and return once we run into any snags or downed trees.
As with all our trips you'll be required to wear a properly fitted PFD with a whistle attached (state law requires the signaling device). Currently the temperature is predicted to be in the mid 50's so you need to dress for cool weather and water temperatures. Bring water for hydration and a snack. If we find a decent spot we'll stop along the way for a break before returning. The put in is at the spillway and the bottom of Adams Mill Pond as easy to spot across the water from the park office. Before putting launching we'll sign the trip release and have a brief safety meeting to discuss the trip and address any concerns.
