Palmetto Paddler Spring Fling Trips
USFS permits are required to be purchased before putting on the water for the Lower Nantahala and can be purchased at the NOC or many other outfitters in the area. Please make sure to purchase this before putting on for any of the Lower trips.
Friday 4/28/2017: Lower Nantahala trip. Meet at the NOC parking area at 12:30pm to 1pm to set shuttle. Drive up to the Lower put in and put on the river.
Saturday 4/29/2017: Upper Nantahala trip (if there is interest) followed by Lower Nantahala trip. Meet at the Upper take out/Lower put in at 9:30am to set shuttle for the Lower take out. Drive back to the Upper take out/Lower put in and ride the NOC shuttle to the upper put in. Get one lap on the upper and meet with everyone for the Lower trip around 12:30pm. Time is tentative for the Lower trip based on how long it takes to run the Upper, but we will not leave for the Lower trip before 12:30pm.
Sunday 4/30/2017: Meet at the Upper take out/Lower put in at 10am, ride the NOC shuttle to the Upper put in. Get in as many laps as everyone would like.
Camping/Lodging: There is a plethora of camping and lodging opportunities available in the area. I plan on staying at Brookside campground. I currently have two campsites reserved and may reserve a few more depending on how many people end up staying there. Please confirm with me in advance if you plan to stay at Brookside so I can ensure that we have enough space for everyone.

If anyone needs to get in touch with me, my work cell is the only phone that I’ll have reception on while in the gorge. I can be reached at 803-727-7891 or on messenger. Please let me know in advance what days/trips you’ll be interested in so I can get a picture of the group sizes for each trip.
