Sparkleberry Swamp Wander Around Trip
Trip Coordinator-Mike Hollis
Meet at 9:00AM at Sparkleberry Landing
It's about time to go wander around the northern end of Lake Marion again for 4 or 5 hours. Other wise known as Sparkleberry Swamp, a great place for enjoying some very scenic flat water paddling in just about any type of kayak, canoe or SUP. There is no planned destination or time limit other than see as much as we can and be back to the landing by mid afternoon. We'll spend as much time as possible off the main creeks but some of the time will be on Mill Creek, Jones Flats, Otter Flats, McGirt's Lake and Creek, Moe's Lake and out to the Santee River.
This trip will be suitable for paddlers with some experience. You'll need to bring and wear a PFD with a whistle, sunscreen, water and a something to eat for a lunch break. If you have a GPS unit and would like to try it out feel free to bring it along and we'll put in some waypoints you'll be able to use for future trips.
Each trip into this area turns out a little different than the last. Foliage and water levels change each time so what was recognizable last time is now a new adventure.
Contact Mike Hollis if you have any questions and would like to join us on this trip.
