Meet at 10:00AM at Sparkleberry Landing Map
Sparkleberry Swamp is a flooded tupelo and cypress forest on the northern end of Lake Marion. This is a very scenic flatwater paddle suitable for any skill level. Destination will depend on the wishes of our group. We may go to the river shack on Fifty Fools Creek and then find some high ground on Risers’ Old Dead River to get out of the boat to eat lunch. If we have an adventurous group, we can go to Broughton’s Indian Mound.
This trip will be suitable for all paddlers. You'll need to bring and wear a PFD with a whistle, sunscreen, water and a something to eat for a lunch break. If you have a GPS unit and would like to try it out feel free to bring it along and we'll put in some waypoints you'll be able to use for future trips.
Contact Geoffrey Chambers if you have any questions and would like to join us on this trip.
