Palmetto Paddlers Meeting

03/27/2007 - 7:00pm
03/27/2007 - 9:00pm

At the Luther Lee Building.

We're looking forward to a great time at our meeting this month. Some of our very own will take the podium and expand your world.

There will be two topics of interest at the March meeting. Lee Olsen is going to take about 30 minutes and share with us one of the wonders of the computer age: Google Earth, its applications to paddling trips and how to interface GPS waypoints and tracks with these satellite photos. This is a great tool for us; and we're hoping to include such a photo with some of our trip write-ups in the future, showing the actual tracks we traveled.

Then Kate Whitaker and fellow paddlers will lead a 30 minute discussion of wilderness camp cooking, "On Being Well Fed In the Wilderness - PP&J Is Just the Beginning!" to include highlights on planning, shopping, packing, gear and cooking successfully in the outdoors.

Expanding your mind, your world and your waistline in one wild evening! Afterwards we'll have a short business meeting and also discuss trips taken and those planned, possibly adjourning at the end of the evening to a restaurant for further contemplation and camaraderie. Don't miss
it.
