The trip will originate from Harmon's Bridge, at Little River Landing, on Lake Murray. The GPS coordinates are
(N 34 04.000': W081 37.942')

We will paddle west, actually leaving Lake Murray, and paddling into Big Creek. I went up a few weeks ago and scouted the trip, and it is about 10 miles round trip. We were gone about four hours, and took a half hour or so lunch.

The landing is located on Hollywood Road, off of 378. I met my buddy at the Park & Ride on 378 at I-20, because I felt that would be a good reference point. It is 28.1 miles from the Park and Ride to the intersection of 378 & Beaverdam Road (as labeled on my GPS. The signpost is actually labeled "Hollywood Road"). Hollywood Road is 3.49 miles after the traffic circle in Saluda. You will see a sign for the Hollywood School right before the road. The landing is 3.3 miles from the intersection. I believe it is directly after the first bridge you cross over the lake. When you see the bridge, slow down!!
The landing is on the right. The total distance to the landing from the Park & Ride is 31.8 miles.

As far as time goes, we can meet at the landing at 10:15 or so, plans to shove off around 11:00. Have everybody keep in mind that there is no shade, so pack plenty of sunscreen and hydration, especially since it will be June. As far as type of boats are concerned, rec boats or sea kayaks or canoes. The channel is about 75-100 feet wide after a bit, but there is plenty of water. My buddy and I turned around when the water started getting really shallow, but again, that was five or so miles out, so it was probably time to turn around anyway. It is beautiful up there. A good bit of fishermen, but they really don't go beyond a certain point.

$1 launching fee at the landing.

I wanted to add that there is a $1 launching fee at the landing, on the honor system.
