Lynches River
The Lynches is a beautiful river. We'll be doing the stretch from Hwy 15 (Bishopville) to Hwy 401, about 15 river miles, above the confluence with the Great Pee Dee. We'll be looping around Lee State Park and the trip should take 6 or 7 hours. The put-in is about an hour and a half drive from Columbia. Plan to meet at the put-in at 10. We will run a shuttle from there and hope to put on the water by 11:30. Canoes, kayaks and recreational boats are appropriate for this stretch. Some steering skills are advised; there may be some strainers and downfall to get over/under/around. Looking for adventure? This is the trip for you.
Please contact Kate Whitaker if you would like to join us. Please include a phone number in case we have to get in touch before the trip. Happy Trails, Kate
lynches river trip
Hi Kate,
Just to let you know I'm planning/hoping to make this trip too. I'm not a PP member, but I do paddle the dark water rivers a good bit. As the date gets closer I'll try to confirm my participation and let you know if I've got anyone else going.

I am interested in doing this trip. Is anyone planning to go from the Columbia area? I am directionally challenged and would love to follow someone to the put-in.
