Wateree Into Lake Marion

I'm looking to pass along information for someone, a fairly new but strong kayaker, who wants to paddle from the 378 Bridge on the Wateree River into Lake Marion to the Low Falls landing.

He knows a landowner on the Wateree, where he may do an overnight if necessary.

Have any of you run this stretch? If so, got any feedback for him? Is it a doable in a day, or should he plan to camp?

Thanks all. My knowlege of this area is nil.

Replies to kakustafik-at-columbiasc.net, thanks.

378 to low falls

i might be a bit late but have done this stretch several times, its doable in a day if you are a strong paddler and start early. as for camping you can camp near the old swing bridge below SCE&G along the palmetto trail..
