advice
I am new to the area and would like some advice on a new kayak. I have a Wilderness sit on top fishing kayak that I used a lot in Florida, but was looking for something smaller for the local rivers. I don't want to do heavy WW, but maybe a little of the easier stuff. I also want a kayak for perhaps an overnight trip. I saw a Liquid Logic Remix 69 that I liked, but it seemed kinda tight to me (I am 6' 200lbs). It may be I am not used to sit in boats. Would this be a decent all around boat or should I look for something for more rec and touring? Sorry to be a NOOB, but I dont want to regret a purchase due to my lack of understanding my needs. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Steve,
You might want to check out the Dagger Blackwater 10.5 or Blackwater 12. They're versatle, good for an overnighter, work well on flat water or getting through moderately rough water, have a retractable skeg (rear fin like a surf board) helping with manuverability (up) or tracking (down). There are a couple of loacally owned (on Gervais St in Columbia, SC & on State St in W. Columbia) shops I know of that could help you out and they keep a number of various boats in stock that you could sit in at the shop. And I know at least one of these will let you return a boat you bought (within a certain number of days) if you get on the lake or river and decide it's the wrong boat for you. Hope this helps.

Advice
You may want to hold off until the East Coast Canoe and Kayak Festival, April 18-20 - www.ccprc.com/ecckf
They'll have all manner of boats on site that you can test drive.
