2008 Trip Reports
Hike started with five participants at the Nature Center. Weather was wonderful – Clear, sunny and cool. A lot of people were walking in the park but once we moved beyond the boardwalk area, fewer walkers were in evidence. We took the Weston Lake Looop Trail, which crosses Cedar Creek several times, for about 4.5 miles. There is water in the creek though it is pretty low. We ran into a snake that might have been a pine snake lying across the path. It let us have a good long look before it took off. There were few birds on the trip out, more on the return (Eastern side of the park.) This is such a good time of the year to walk in this area, it's a very easy walk, and there's always something new to see.
