Where is a good place to put in at the Cayce Riverwalk

Can you put in at the Cayce river walk? If that is my starting point can it be my ending point also? I want to paddle a mile or two and turn around. Is the current strong around that point? Im pretty sure I can put in at the amphitheater.Right? Would this water be good for a rec and ocean kayak? Thanks

yes, you can put in at the amphitheater. rec boats and ocean kayaks are ok. you can paddle down and back up, but it's not a leisurely paddle upstream, especially if you go through the lock. you have to ferry and pick your way through the rock gardens. it'd be easier to just float on down to the rosewood(barney jordan) landing or the cayce landing past it on river right.
