Congaree Creek

I have wanted to paddle the Congaree Creek but I missed the trip on Oct. 4, and so I would like to see if somebody would want to do it again some saturday or sunday before it gets too cold. Thank you.

Congaree Creek

Hi, I would not mind join you next saturday or sunday for this trip. Thank you.

Congaree Creek

I would like to to add my name to the list as well.

William

To Congaree Creek

Oh great, thank you Hernan and William, I would like to go on Sunday 9th, if the weather is good or maybe the 15th or 16th as alternate days. I have not been on the Congaree Creek, but I have seen cars parked on Hwy. 302, Cayce? Have you been there? I have a small 11 ft. kayak that goes everywhere.

Saturday the 8th works better for me.

oh, I have made a work

oh, I have made a work commitment for Saturday. If sunday 9th is not an option maybe we can do it the 15 or 16. I am going to hold those days open. But this Sunday we are going to have good weather, and the fall colors will be awesome.

I agree the colors will be great but I can't make it Sunday. I think the 15th or 16th should work out ok.

Saturday works better for me

Saturday works better for me too, but Sunday could still work. I did not do it before and actually I am not a pro, but I read reports on Congaree Creek and the trip takes around 3 hours from 11 to 2pm with a lunch break. I will not be able to make it on the 15th. My email is nanfj1506 'at' gmail.com if you'd like to keep this conversation by email.

Definitive tentative plans for the Congaree Creek outing

OK, it is tentatively definite that we shall plan for an outing of exploration of the Congaree creek on Sunday Nov. 16, perhaps around 10 AM. Anybody interested is invited to come along. In the meantime, keep the forest within you, especially now that the forest is ablaze!

So this is set for sunday nov. 16 at 10 a.m. if possible can you email me directly with a yea or nay? I did the trip a few weeks ago....lots of stuff to pull over and under, but maybe with the rain there will be less of the former.

I am glad you want to go and

I am glad you want to go and have experience on this outing. I have no problem ducking under or jumping over strainers, my little boat is very forgiving. The wether will be great tomorrow, but it will start getting cold soon after.

Another try at the Congaree Creek

A very reliable friend has commited to come with me to the Congaree Creek. Even though it will be chilly we are going to paddle this Sunday Nov. 23. Stay tuned if you are interested in joining. More details to follow.

Michael E. Hollis-Do you have a time in mind for this trip?

10 AM on Sunday

We want to be at the put in by around 10 AM on Sunday Nov. 23. We are 3 paddlers so far.
And by the way, Mike, where exactly is the put in? I have seen kayakers parked by 321 on Cayce, close to a water tank, close to the Mossy Creek development. Is that the put in?

The put in for the Congaree Creek

Ok, I have been informed of the put-in. It is at exit 115 from I-26. Correct?

We paddled it

We finally got to paddle the Congaree Creek, with the help of two kind gentlemen. The water level was just right for ducking under the logs. The day was sunny and mild, and nobody else was on the river. We flushed some wildlife. Nobody got wet. It was a great outing.
