We had four volunteers at the Zoo for the 2009 Beach Sweep/River Sweep. There was less trash than we have ever collected at the "Beach Area".

Kathy Sheppard and Judy Cooper picked up trash at the Gardendale Put in/Take out. Mike Hollis did double duty...he stopped by Gardendale to pick up some trash before Kathy and Judy arrived...

As Palmetto Paddlers, we are dedicated to being good stewards of the Saluda River...it would certainly be better if we could get more participation on the next "River Cleanup". Look at all the kids in the photo that were there volunteering with Keep the Midlands Clean...and they don't even paddle...
